What Is #BeyonceAlwaysOnBeat?

The #BeyonceAlwaysOnBeat hashtag has taken over Twitter, Live Magazine Editor, Frances explains what the trend is all about

The past week has seen my timeline polluted with a new hashtag. It’s called #BeyonceAlwaysOnBeat and I’m not mad at it at all! Now, you’ve probably seen a few of these meme videos – unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past few days, but I felt the need to explain the trend, after reading this piece in The Metro.

The hashtag involves a short clip from one of Queen Bey’s music videos, overlaid with music and it could be anything from gospel to trap. The result (if edited correctly) is a perfectly synced video meme of Bey brukking out. The point proven is that she is always on beat.

According to knowyourmeme: “On May 23rd, 2015, Twitter user MascotMY_Tweets (Kendall Gaines)  began tweeting a series of found Vine and Instagram videos which he tagged with the hashtag #BeyonceAlwaysOnBeat.” He created part two (and several more) of the series after it seems he was inspired by a Vine posted by Nelly The King, earlier this year. As with the nature of the internet, it has spiralled beyond control with several different versions.

It’s also a great time online for the Beyhive, I  search the hashtag regularly to check if any new videos have been added and end up screaming YAS YAS YASSS repeatedly during every clip.

Here are a few of my personal favourites….

Nothing beats an original and the syncing is too on point! This is the tweet that kicked off the hashtag.

It’s as if she was really dancing Sean Kingston’s Beat It and not Single Ladies

They couldn’t leave out 7/11

Context is everything and it was the delivery of this that made it funny, imagine someone doing this at a cookout (barbecue)!?

After this footage of Bey at a basketball game emerged, for reasons beyond comprehension she got a lot of criticism – which is why I felt guilty for laughing.

Pree how she’s patting her weave! YASSS!

How you gonna put Kirk Franklin over Run The World? There is only one place for the creator of this one…
