Lamar Odom On The Road To Recovery

Lamar Odom continues to make steps towards recovery surrounded by love and support Will this finally put an end to the cycle of tragedy?

I was really happy when I heard that Lamar Odom was being moved to a Los Angeles hospital, as I viewed this as a positive sign for his recovery, but he’s is not out of the woods yet. Waking up from his coma was one thing, but now he’s had to endure two major surgeries!

When the news broke that Lamar had been found unconscious and was fighting for his life in Nevada, the world of the NBA was devastated.  As a Los Angeles Lakers fan, I knew of Lamar before he married Khloe and became a ‘character’ on Keeping Up With The Kardashians.

Numerous basketball players offered words of encouragement, his former teammates spoke out about just how deeply it was effecting them and Kobe Bryant reportedly rushed to his bedside.  You don’t see that so often in the NBA.

Lamar’s story is one that breaks my heart and reading about the tragedy that has hit his life over and over again since childhood brought tears to my eyes.  I mean, how much pain and loss can one person take in a lifetime?

One person who has been there throughout this whole ordeal is Lamar’s estranged wife, Khloe Kardashian.  People may question why she refuses to leave Lamar’s side as she has seemingly spent the past few years moving on, but I think it proves that she still loves her “Lammy”.

In my opinion, thrusting someone like Lamar into the constant view of the public and then continuing to call him out on TV has to be a factor in his downward spiral. I believe the love between Lamar and Khloe is genuine and we will see how things will pan out since they have called off their divorce. I just hope Khloe’s presence, on her various reality TV shows does not cause him any extra stress.

I’m glad that Lamar is making some movements towards recovery and that he has the love and support of so many people.  I just hope that he will see this as a second chance to truly help himself as he moves forward and allow the people who love him to help him along the way.  And most of all, I hope that this will be the last time he’s hit by tragedy.
